OpenOffice is an open source product that satisfies all of your office needs. In a nutshell, it's like having a free version of Microsoft Office. Included is a spreadsheet, presentation and drawing program, plus a text and HTML editor. OpenOffice allows you to work with files from other applications such as Word, Excel and Lotus 1-2-3. You must read the installation instructions carefully before installing. Also note that the file is large and can take some time to download if using a dial-up modem.

Thesaurus and Dictionary

WordWeb is a free dictionary and thesaurus that can be used with other programs or as a stand-alone program. Highlight the word you want to look up and click on the WordWeb icon or Ctrl-Alt-W. WordWeb will appear with the parts of speech, pronunciation guide, definition and synonyms.

ArtRage is a drawing program that simulates the look and feel of painting on canvas. You can use a paintbrush, crayon, pencil, felt pen or chalk. Make thin or thick lines by adjusting the width of each tool. Load a picture in the background and trace over it. ArtRage works best on a tablet PC or a graphics tablet. It should run on Windows 98 and ME, although the company does not provide support for those versions.

Image Browser Arctic is an image-viewing program. It will automatically search your computer for any kind of image file.
